FX this weekend :D

Tue Apr 14, 2009, 5:57 AM
So FX International is coming up this weekend! I'm still not ready (but am I ever)? And I need to hustle to get some prints done and costumes finished. I've changed my costume lineup (as I did not get C.C. done in time, so sad!) but I have an awesome, steampunk outfit to take her place!

I'm so excited about this weekend! I'll be appearing at Booth #35 in Creators Alley (Exploding Moose Productions). Chris and his brother will be debuting Duck versus Squirrel, a new online comic with oodles of cool stuff to go with it! I'll be signing Geek Girls calendars, and I'll have several prints on me if you are so inclined to pick one up. :)

Also, both Friday AND Saturday at 2:00pm I'll be appearing at Ray See Art's booth for live art modeling and signing an EXCLUSIVE art print Ray created of yours truly. ^_^ I've never really done anything like this before, so I'm super excited!

While you're at FX, don't forget to stop by Creator's Alley #75 to see Chandra Free and Lindsay Cibos! Chandra is the mastermind behind The God Machine (first issue coming to your comic shop this July!) and Lindsy has been published all over the place, including her own comic Peach Fuzz, work on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and several How To books for manga illustration.

Also, Miss Shelly of Inhale Corsets will be helping out Jack at Jack's Toys (I think that's his booth name, I don't have a number to pimp, sorry guys!)  where international cosplay superstar Yaya Han will be appearing. Shelly will have order forms for her corsets, and you can see some of her work in action on her and at my booth (if I can convince her to lend me some of her pretties ;D) . I'll have business cards for her, in case you don't get a chance to see her in person (and for that, you lose!).

So if you're coming out to the show, make sure to stop by and say hello to me and all my wonderful friends!

FX International

Hey guys!

So I'm super excited that FX is right around the corner. The amazing and talented Chris Albritton of Exploding Moose Productions has sponsored me for this year's FX Show. I will be appearing alongside him, his wonderful photography, and the debut of his new comic "Duck and Squirrel" in Creator's Alley booth #35! I'll have more information next week, so stay tuned.

So I've been doing some live figure modeling to help pay the costume expenses, and it gave me a great idea! Artists! Do you want something to spice up your time at FX, draw in traffic, and get your hands (err pencils!) on a sexy costumed-gal? Then I have the solution!

Hire me!

For an hour session, I will come to your booth, in costume, and pose for you while you draw me in whatever quirky position we come up with (and trust me, I'm pretty dedicated to the hard positions! Ask anyone at Dr. Sketchy's Orlando!). It'll definitely bring attention to your booth and boost sales (and other things we wont mention!).

Now getting an hour with Ana Aesthetic must cost a fortune, right? WRONG! Because I love artists, and wat they do, I'm offering a special convention-booking price of $30. (Wow! She is a cheap date!)

Now, I'll have my own obligations, so bookings are limited. ^_^ Sorry, boys (and fantastic female artists, too (damnit there is not catchy synoym for artist that begins with "f").)

Curious about prints

Thu Jan 15, 2009, 4:53 PM
Something got me thinking today... was talking with a friend about selling art prints at conventions and the legality of selling prints of licensed characters. Now two semesters or copyright law and years of working in the industry have taught me if someone owns the license to something you cannot reproduce it. Yet, how come I go to conventions and see prints, actual printed copies of an artist's own work, of popular characters for sale at their tables? Is this something that is overlooked by the comic companies and other ownership (yet I think if Disney walked into a show and saw someone selling Little Mermaid art they would fine that person to hell and back!) or is there some sort of right protecting artists?

I'd really like to know because aforementioned friend is interested in doing art prints of me and another friend, but as anime and comic characters we dress up as, and selling them (with, of course, some of the profit coming our way ;D).

I'd love to hear thoughts on this subject! :)

So the most wonderful =SpookyChan :iconspookychan: spent the day working on a little something for me.... a most amazing art piece for me to use on my new business card!! Please take the time to go over and look at the piece, [link] and let her (and me!) know what you think by commenting on it. ^_^ I'd add it here, but I want her to get all the DevArt cred for her hard work.

Thank you, sweetie! I  it!!!

Christmas Gift anyone? ^_^

Sat Dec 20, 2008, 7:21 AM
I rarely ask for "donations" but this is something I've been meaning to join for a while now.

There's a publication in Florida that all the agencies get, it lists casting calls, model auditions, promotional gigs - pretty much *the* recourse for talent and crew needing work in the state.

I really, really want to sign up, but I can't, realistically, spend the funds I need for bills and living expenses on this. Plus, I've received a few people asking what I want for Christmas - here it is!

$1, $5, any amount you want - I'd really love if I could sign up for this. ^_^

I wish it was something more egalitarian, like... say... the 2009 Geek Girls Charity Calendar, in which all proceeds go to support BASE Camp of Orlando and helping children living with cancer.

You know, you could also buy one of those and make me equally happy as well. ^_^
(I also gave Margie about 20 signed prints to give to the first 20 people who order :)

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Blessings Be and have a Wonderful New Year :D
